Houston Parks Board is developing three regional parks that transform underutilized spaces into vibrant, accessible destinations, strengthening community connections and showcasing Houston’s natural beauty and cultural richness.
PROJECTS

Transforming an unused dirt mound into a 100-acre green oasis with lush plants, hiking and biking paths, and serene ponds, all emerging from a Harris County Flood Control detention basin.
Reimaging this historic park, including the Homer Ford Tennis Center, by extending trails to the iconic basketball pavilion, adding a fully accessible playground that far exceeds ADA standards, and revitalizing the pool and recreation center.

Coolgreen Park
Rewilding a former golf course into a public haven with trails and recreational spaces, enhancing conservation and community access.
