START IN MARKET SQUARE PARK

Start your cycle at Market Square Park on Milam Street. From there, cycle southwest on Milam Street toward Preston Street. Turn left on Travis Street and a right onto Commerse Street. Follow signs for Commerce Street and you’ll ride the Harrisburg Hike and Bike Trail for 3 miles.

Craving beer and a burger? You can take a slight detour off of Commerce Street and N Ennis Street for your Moon Tower Inn experience.

CRUISE ON THE COLUMBIA TAP RAIL-TRAIL

From Harrisburg Hike and Bike Trail, continue south onto Dumble Street. Make a right onto Polk Street for 1.2 miles and you’ll come up on Colombia Tap Rail-Trail. Turn left and enjoy the trail!

BECOME MESMERIZED IN THE MUSEUM DISTRICT

Once the 4-mile Columbia Tap Rail-Trail comes to an end, you’ll be hopping on the Brays Bayou Greenway Trail. Brays Bayou will bring you into the Houston Museum District—where your options are endless! Cycle through Hermann Park, peep inside the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Museum of Fine Arts, or even the Houston Zoo.

CYCLING IN MONTROSE

Continue on the trail, and follow signs for Montrose Boulevard. Turn left onto Bissonnet Street, a right on Parkway Drive, and continue straight onto Graustark Street. For 1.2 miles, follow signs for Yoakum Boulevard—which turns into Waugh Drive. Turn right onto Allen Parkway, where the Gus S. Wortham Fountain will be on your right.

You’re in the heart of Montrose! Take advantage of sight-seeing and relaxation at the Menil Park or Rothko Chapel. If you’re in need of a sweet treat, take a detour to Black Hole Coffee.

HEAD BACK DOWNTOWN

Head east on Allen Parkway, and follow the Buffalo Bayou* Trail. You’ll make a loop around Sesquicentennial Park, and come up on until you get to Preston Street. Then back to Market Square Park!
