In partnership with the Friends of Lee LeClear Tennis Center and the Houston Parks and Recreation Department, we are reimagining the Lee LeClear Education and Tennis Center, the largest in the nation when it first opened in 1973. Home to statewide tennis tournaments and open to the general public, we’ve launched three phases of changes.

In the first two phases, the parking lot and court lights were replaced, accessible ramps, signage and LED lighting were added, entryway and landscaping improvements were made, and 26 courts were resurfaced. We’re managing the final phase, which involves much-needed demolition of the existing building and the construction of a brand new center. The building will provide space for educational programs like the National Junior Tennis Program, feature a community area for activities, and house the staff that run the Center and tournaments.
